The magazine publishes nine issues a year, including a show issue for the Canadian Home Workshop Show. Article topics include project ideas, tool profiles, technique and design ideas, practical renovation and home maintenance information, and shop tips. Douglas Thomson is the editor. For several years the magazine was owned by Transcontinental until being sold in September 2009 (along with sister title Outdoor Canada magazine) to Q on Q Media Inc.

The Canadian Home Workshop Show is a consumer show that takes place every March in Toronto. The show features workshops and seminars hosted by industry pros, as well as a market place for tools.
