The company operates in three major areas: Consumer Products, Industrial Products and Laboratory Services. Campbell became one of the world's largest providers of laboratory analysis services to the minerals industry after acquiring North American mineral laboratory group Bondar Clegg in December 2001.

ALS (Australian Laboratory Services) is the largest business unit under the Campbell Brothers banner.

In 1981, ALS was acquired by Campbell Brothers Limited, a Queensland based company first registered in 1863 and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1952 (ASX:CPB). Campbell Brothers has a strong record of consistent revenue growth and profitability.

Testing, inspection and certification across multiple market segments is ALS’ core business.
Today, the company processes more than 16 million samples per annumA and is one of the largest analytical and testing groups in the world.

With more than 9,000 staff, ALS operates from over 300 locations in 50 plus countries throughout Australia, Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Africa.
ALS provides a broad range of sophisticated, state of the art services to six main market segments; mining (mineral exploration, mineralogy and metallurgical testing services); environmental analysis (air, water, soil and sediment); coal quality, lubricant analysis and condition monitoring, food, pharmaceutical and veterinary analysis and industrial services (NDT, materials testing
