On December 9, 2010, Cadence Financial Corporation's shareholders approved the sale of the company to CBC. Cadence Financial Corporation, which includes Cadence Bank, N.A., will become the principal subsidiary of CBC. Upon completion of the acquisition, Cadence Financial Corporation will no longer be a member of NASDAQ Global Select Market, and become a private bank holding company under CBC.
On March 5, 2011, Cadence Financial Corporation became the principal subsidiary of CBC. In October 2011 Cadence Bank purchase local based Superior Bank N.A. adding it's first Mortgage lending division.
