). With the construction of the Bözbergtunnel in 1875 the village grew. Between 1840 and 1925, the main industry was home straw production for the straw plaiting industry. Starting in 1980 there was a building boom, and the number of commuters increased thanks to regular bus service to Brugg (starting in 1990).

Geography

Bözen has an area, , of 3.95 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi). Of this area, 2.61 square kilometres (1 sq mi) or 66.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while0.86 square kilometre (0.33204785638958 sq mi) or 21.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.44 square kilometre (0.169884949780715 sq mi) or 11.1% is settled (buildings or roads) and 0.01 km² (2.5 acre) or 0.3% is unproductive land.

Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 0.3% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 4.6% and transportation infrastructure made up 6.1%. 19.2% of the total land area was heavily forested and 2.5% is orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 37.5% is used for growing crops and 22.8% is pastures, while 5.8% is used for orchards or vine crops.
