The Byrd Amendment is an amendment to the US Federal "Strategic and Critical Materials Stock Piling Act" authored by Senator Harry F. Byrd
in 1971.
It was declared a violation of International law by Diggs v. Schultz (152 U.S.App.D.C. 313
) in 1972 and repealed by congress in 1977.
