. Originally formed in 1934 playing out of Rudd Park, the club relocated to Pizzey Park in 1971, their current home ground.

The Leagues Club opened in 1991 and has developed into one of the most successful licensed clubs on the Gold Coast, boasting a membership base of around 20,000. Renovations to the Leagues Club were completed in 2004 and with further extensions on the way, Burleigh Bears will continue to grow.

Currently the Burleigh Bears field an A Grade and Colts side in the FOGS Cup, which is a South East Queensland competition and a Wizard Queensland Cup side that plays in the State Wide Competition. The Queensland Cup is the strongest competition outside of the NRL and getting stronger every year. They also have three teams playing in the Local Gold Coast Competition: an A Grade, Reserve Grade and an under-19 side.

Burleigh has one of the biggest Junior Clubs in Queensland and boasts over 700 registered players. In 2009 The Burleigh Bears signed a deal with The Brisbane Broncos to become one of six feeder clubs for the NRL Powerhouses.
