. Rep. Holloway served as the Republican Freshman Leader in the House of Representatives in his first term.

Before going into politics, Holloway was a social studies teacher at West Stokes High School. In the 2004 election, he defeated incumbent Rex Baker in the Republican primary. In the general election, Holloway beat Democratic candidate Robert W. Mitchell, also a social studies teacher at the same school.

Holloway is a Chair of the Education Committee and also the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education.
