. His parents, Ernest Linwood Forbes and Marie Louise Forbes met in Rochester. Ernie eventually became a hospital administrator at Methodist Hospital in Mitchell. Marie was a mathematics teacher as well as a librarian. Their family is unrelated to the family of Forbes magazine.
