Other bands/artists that Brooks has played with include American Tourist (2001-2003), Sleep Today (2008), Lucky Father Browne (briefly in 2002), and Aaron Copeland, (live shows in 2004). Brooks has a solo project called Black Pond that has been in the works for several years. There are videos of demos/stripped down versions of Black Pond.
