BrightRoll is the largest video ad network and third largest video property on the Web. The company serves hundreds of millions of video ads per month to more than 65 million unique viewers.

Funding

BrightRoll has conducted three rounds of funding, raising $16 million to date. Investors include True Ventures, Adams Street Partners and Adams Street Capital and Scale Venture Partners.

Products/Services

The company offers an array of video advertising unit types, including:
  • In-Stream (pre-roll with companion banner and interactive pre-roll)
  • In-Banner (click to play, mouseover to play and auto preview)
  • Marquee (standard, custom and multi-play)


BrightRoll also provides optimization and targeting solutions, proprietary ad units, consolidated reporting solutions, and integration solutions with third party ad servers.

BrightRoll launched new services in 2008, 2009 and 2010, including a video advertising offering that connects branded video advertisers exclusively with broadcast television content online. The company recently released the BrightRoll Exchange (BRX), a self-service online video ad buying platform that largely automates how buyers execute online video ad campaigns. The company's latest offering allows advertisers to deliver mobile video ad campaigns across a broad range of devices.

Awards

BrightRoll has received several industry awards. The first, the AlwaysOn OnMedia 100 award, was given in January of 2009. It recognizes private, emerging technology companies in the advertising, publishing, marketing, branding and public relations spaces. The AlwaysOn editorial team selected BrightRoll based on the company's market opportunity, level of innovation, growth and customer traction.

In September of 2008, BrightRoll was picked as the best video advertising network in the 2008 Streaming Media Readers’ Choice Awards.

In May 2010, BrightRoll was recognized as one of the “2010 Hottest San Francisco Companies” by Lead411.

In July 2010, BrightRoll was selected by AlwaysOn as one of the AlwaysOn Global 250 Winners. The AlwaysOn Global 250 list recognizes U.S. and international technology companies that exhibit leadership and innovative technologies that are likely to disrupt existing markets.
