Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band of St. Paul, Minnesota is a Grade 4 bagpipe band
based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area of Minnesota
. The band has performed with Green Day
and Blink-182
. The band primarily plays celtic music with an Irish emphasis. In 2007 the band became a 501c3 non-profit. They have approx. 20 members and a dozen students. Their uniforms consist of the saffron kilt, black tunic, and black cabeen (beret) with green or red plumes and are modeled after traditional Irish pipe bands. A number of the band members wear the original brass buttons from uniforms of the Irish Volunteers
, the very units involved in the historic Easter Uprising in Dublin. They practice at an Irish Merchandise warehouse called the Irish Rose in West St. Paul.
