Plans recently went through to build a Post 16 centre to accommodate the Sixth Form
students in 2010. Construction has begun and is on schedule for the school's first year of Sixth Form as part of the Concorde Partnership starting in September.
In 2008, the school was awarded with specialist status in Performing Arts
. The school was rated outstanding by the Ofsted
inspection in November 2009.
The school has four house teams; Amethyst, Emerald, Topaz and Sapphire.
