Academics

Bonner Springs operates on a block schedule. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, students attend all of their classes for an hour each. Wednesdays however, students only attend first, third, fifth, Projects Time and seventh hours. Then Thursdays, students attend first, second, fourth, Projects Time and sixth hours. All classes are expanded to fill a full day. During Projects Time on Wednesday and Thursday, students meet in specified classrooms. If the student has meeting for a extracurricular activity, the student may leave. Students that don't finish forms required for their specified projects, chat quietly or do homework.

Also, MTSS, a short period used to incorporate Kansas State requirements into all curriculums, takes place most of the week. This cooperative study session takes place during fourth hour on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. MTSS takes place during fifth hour on Wednesdays. MTSS is used to focus on reading, math and science.

Extracurricular activities

The Braves compete in the Kaw Valley League and are classified as a 4A school, the third-largest classification in Kansas according to the Kansas State High School Activities Association

Athletics

Bonner Springs High School offers a variety of athletics. The Braves' athletic programs compete in the Kaw Valley League. Students who compete on an athletic team are required to maintain a passing GPA. If a student falls below a passing GPA level, they are suspended from participating in games until they meet the GPA requirement.
