Bog Standard (short film)

Bog Standard is a 2010 short film that is set in the fictional toilets of Salford Haulage and Transport.

Plot

"All John wanted was a poo. After taking a quick toilet break during work, John realises to his horror that he has forgotten to check if there was any toilet paper. Hilarity ensues."

Production

Written and Directed by Manchester based film-maker Colin Warhurst (Co-Director/Producer of the UK Independent feature film Mancattan and Produced by Chris Lane, Bog Standard is a 10 minute short film, shot in HD, and filmed on location (in a toilet) in Salford.



Chris Lane and Michael Justice appeared on programme Manchester Today in September 2009 in search of a suitable toilet to shoot the film in, and were interviewed by Jethro Pope.



The filmmakers behind Bog Standard are part of a creative and social movement in the North West of England called North West New Wave,
and strongly believe that if you have an idea and the passion to make it happen then you can make a film, regardless of resources.

Premiere in the toilets of the Dancehouse Theatre

On Friday, 12 March 2010 the film was screened in the toilets of the Dancehouse Theatre, Manchester. Chris Lane announced details of the screening live on Channel M on Friday, 12 February 2010and Paul Crone covered the story on Granada Reports on Thursday, 11 March 2010.

World Toilet Day

The film is to be released on World Toilet Day, 19 November 2010, in support of WaterAid.
