He joined from the Edinburgh Norton junior club, and went on to make almost 100 league appearances for them. He was made player of the year by the supporter's association for 1962. Bobby moved to play in the Football League with for the 1963-64 season. He went on to play 230 league matches for the club, and also appeared for Leicester in the 1969 FA Cup Final
