Most buses in the Blue Mountains area are tourist buses (such as Trolley Tours or Explorer Link) running a loop starting at Katoomba through various attractions or lookouts. The Blue Mountains Bus Company (BMBC), which is based in Valley Heights, also operates public buses as well as school buses. Most of its buses travel within lower Blue Mountains area (e.g. Katoomba, Springwood, Faulconbridge, Blaxland), with the exceptions of Blackheath and Mount Victoria.
