Bjorn Englen was born in Växjö

In 1994 Englen got hired to play bass for the multi-platinum–selling heavy metal group Quiet Riot

Since 2007 Englen has played bass for Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force and as a member of the group toured Europe and the U.S. in 2008. A sold out co-headlining tour with Deep Purple in Japan was completed in April 2009., and a tour of Russia and Israel was completed in April 2010. After a long hiatus, Soul Sign completed a short tour of Sweden in March 2010 in support of their upcoming album Life In The Dark. YJM's Rising Force played a Boss (Roland)–sponsored event at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA in January 2011 and immediately after Englen completed a short tour of California with Scorpions guitar legend Uli Jon Roth.

Since 1986 he has played over 1500 live shows and on over 30 albums. He has recorded/performed with members of Foreigner, Deep Purple, David Lee Roth, Dio, Ozzy, Elton John, Rainbow, Journey, Korn, Dream Theater, Whitesnake, Night Ranger, Heart, Judas Priest, Guns N' Roses, John Norum, Sweet, Jeff Scott Soto, The Beach Boys, Blue Murder, Steve Vai, George Lynch, Vixen, Berlin, Buddy Guy, Chaka Kahn, Tony McAlpine, Paul Rodgers, Saga etc.

Bjorn Englen was featured in a two-page article of Bassiste magazine March/April 2010, as well as full-page ads in Bass Player magazine in 2010 promoting the Carvin SB5000 bass.
He endorses Carvin basses & wireless systems, EBS amp systems and pedals, Mari Strings, Spectraflex cables, Hipshot Bass Xtenders & hardware and Dunlop picks.
