Basketball

The girls basketball team at Bishop McGuinness (Villains), as of 2011, holds the record in the NCHSAA conference 1A schools for the most consecutive state championships at (6) six.

Cross Country

The boys cross country team has gotten to the state meet every year since 2005, but have never won. They won the conference title in 2009 and 2011 and won the regional competition in 2007.
