The Billboard Social 50 is a weekly Billboard music chart. According to Billboard's official description, the chart is "A ranking of the most active artists on the world's leading social networking sites. Artists' popularity is determined by a formula blending their weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views and weekly song plays, as measured by Next Big Sound."
The first number-one act of the Social 50 was Rihanna on December 11, 2010. As of the issue dated July 30, 2011, the Social 50 has had five different number-one acts. Its current number one is Justin Bieber. The act with the most weeks at number one in the chart's history is Justin Bieber with 24, followed by Lady Gaga with 11, and Rihanna with 6.
