Nominated again for "Multimedia Journalist" in 2010, she received the "New Media Journalist Of The Year" at the 2011 Scottish Press Awards.

Lyons is the daughter of radio producer Ben Lyons and promoter Louise Rosenthal. Her sister Yvette is a Yorkshire Television producer.
