as a "statement of purpose". At this stage the band was still a duo of Rob and John Wright. The EP was described by Maximumrocknroll as "4 great songs". The tracks were described by Allmusic's Laurie Mercer as "relatively straightforward", but commented on "Forget Your Life"'s contrast between the song's apparently nihilistic lyric but positive and upbeat sentiment.

The EP was reissued in 1991 on Wrong Records.
