Benjamin Franklin Fairless (1890–1962) was the President of U.S. Steel Corporation from 1938 until 1953.
Fairless was born Benjamin F. Williams at Pigeon Run, Ohio. He was adopted by his uncle at an early age and took his uncles's last name.
Fairless became president of U.S. Steel at about the same time that Edward Riley Stettinius, Jr. becoame chairman of the board, succeddeding Myron Charles Taylor
. Fairless served as U.S. Steels' chairman of the board from 1952-1955.
In 1954 the Association for Iron and Steel Technology inaugurated an award named for Fairless.
U.S. Steel's Fairless Works near Morrisville, Pennsylvania was named for him as was the U.S. Steel developed community of Fairless Hills, 5 miles distant from the works.
