The Bengal Mongoose is a subspecies of the Small Asian Mongoose. It is also known as the Marsh Mongoose, not to be confused with Atilax paludinosus, which is also called the Marsh Mongoose. Other synonyms include Indian Marsh Mongoose and Bengali Water Mongoose.
