Anna decides to take an end-of-summer getaway—to get away from her drama-filled LA life. So she packs her Louis Vuitton, grabs her close friend Sam, and heads to the Big Apple. Between trips to the Met and shopping at Bendel's, the girls are living the A-List life on Anna's home turf. But their trip isn't exactly a vacation. Sam is here to spy on Eduardo and decode his recent strange behavior. Will what she discover send her hopping on the next private jet back to Beverly Hills? And who is the beautiful stranger who appears on Anna’s Upper East Side doorstep? Anna begins to wonder whether she wants to head back west again—especially since Ben seems to have moved on . . . with someone who isn't a stranger at all. When it comes to the A-List, there's drama coast to coast.

It starts out with Anna and Ben at the wrap up party for Ben-Hur where Jackson announces that he is planning to remake Casablanca. There is only one mention of Jackson's split with Poppy in the book and it is very minor. Anna and Caine are over, which Ben should be happy about. But when he tells her about his plan for a club of his own, things shift. Ben, Anna, and Ben's father have a meeting for the investing in the club. When his father pulls out and Anna agrees, their relationship is over.

Sam and Eduardo seem to be drifting but when he pops the question ( Will you marry me?) it turns everything crazy. She only tells Anna.

Adam does come back to town for Cammie, but she rejects him when he didn't meet at the exact time. But she has a backup plan- Ben.

After her terrible breakup with Ben, Anna heads to New York City, with Sam in tow. They stay at Anna's infamous almost palatial brownstone, which rivals Sam's house. A young man from Anna's elementary school days turns up at her door. His name is Logan and is absolutely gorgeous. He was away at school and Anna might be in love again...

Eduardo is in New York for a Peruvian convention at the UN. Sam is so very suspicious. She turns up there and Eduardo is less than pleased. Sam is extremely hurt when he introduces her as "Samantha" and not "My Fiancée".

As the story goes on Sam is very upset with Eduardo and as she is to meet him at a cafe she sees the beautiful Peruvian designer Gisella, and confronts Eduardo when she sees him come out the restroom, calls him an asshole, and leaves. Eventually, Eduardo gets back in contact with Sam and explains that the reason that he has been talking to Gisella about making Sam's wedding dress. He wanted it to be perfect and kept it secret for that reason.

Logan is supposedly very nice and handsome. he falls in love with Anna.

When Ben finally opens his club, he and Cammie make out. Anna is jealous, and it appears Ben wants to talk to her. However, Adam comes into the club and he sees Ben kissing Cammie. He is so upset that he punches Ben. He is jealous, too.

At the end of the book, Anna follows Logan to Bali, using the ticket he gave her.
