 in the Ballarat region of Victoria, Australia. The club, nicknamed the Swans, has a history dating back to 1860. Ballarat once competed in the Victorian Football Association.

Ballarat played their home matches at City Oval in Ballarat for 88 years, then moved to Alfredton Recreation Reserve in 1994. Ballarat play in a predominately white strip with a red "vee".
