Baba Nobushige (?-?) was a retainer beneath the clan of Takeda throughout the latter Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. As Nobushige was the grandson to the reputed Baba Nobufusa's younger brother, Nobuyori, it can be relatively speculated that Nobushige supported the Takeda initially at the time at which he was eligible for service as vassal, and forthwith supported such a clan by the side of his respective grandfather and uncle. As the potential feats and variable campaigns that Nobushige may have taken part in are relatively unknown from the time at which he served the Takeda, it is still recorded that he rationally chose to defect over to Tokugawa Ieyasu initially during the 1582 attack of Kai Province or immediately following the end of such a decisive incident. As Nobushige was thus presently serving under Ieyasu, he would take part within the Battle of Nagakute of 1584, where he showed at least moderate ability on the battlefield but nonetheless secured the safety of his family line. The service and life of Nobushige following this conflict remains unknown, but it is easily speculated that he may have survived up until the Edo Period and became a minor daimyo in part to his former service.
