History

Autumn Owls was conceived in 2006 by five friends and musicians, Gary McFarlane, Adam Browne, Simon Gillis, William Purtill and Derek Byrne . While studying for final exams in college the band began writing demos. They were chosen to play Dublin's Hard Working Class Heroes music festival in October, 2007; the band's first live performance. In 2008 they released two critically acclaimed EPs, Insomnia Lodge and On the Trail of the Disappearing. Since then the band has appeared at North American music festivals like SXSW, CMJ, NXNE, and Canadian Music Week

and have regularly toured the US and Europe. The band has been writing material for a new LP reportedly scheduled for a 2012 release date.
