The Australian Father Of The Year award is an Australian award to honor and showcase a fine example of Australian fatherhood. Spanning over fifty years, the ‘Australian Father of the Year’ has been awarded to high-profile, famous fathers, from prime ministers & politicians to sportsmen and business leaders, acknowledging the support, guidance and love they show to Australian children

The Shepherd Centre together with the Australian Fathers Day Council launch a campaign each year to find Australia's best father and the winners are announced at a luncheon, with all proceeds going to The Shepherd Centrehttp://www.shepherdcentre.com.au/. The Shepherd Centre is a charity which teaches deaf and hearing-impaired children to listen and speak using an early intervention program. The Shepherd Centre have been involved in the Australian Father of the Year Awards since 1998.
