After making three small movies—2004 short film Normal, 2006 independent film Thanks to Gravity and 2007 made-for-TV movie The Ranger Larry Show -- Emerson made the jump to episodic television. He made his television debut in 2007 on Law and Order: Criminal Intent on the episode "Seeds," in which he played the son of a murdered OB-GYN. He followed that up with three more jobs between 2008 and 2009, two being small roles on ER
