Education

The school is known for its outstanding vocational education standards, winning numerous awards around the state of Queensland. Many students are receiving traineeships and apprenticeships and the percentage of students receiving these eclipses the state standards.

TAFE and Atherton High School are linked through vocational education and training programs offered. The Atherton TAFE Branch is located in close proximity to the school.

Sport

The school has four sports teams, competing for three sports titles: Athletics, Cross-Country, and Swimming. They are Eacham, Euramo, Quincan and Barrine. Team names signify lakes throughout the Tableland region.

The school remains dominant over its Tablelands rivals in sporting competitions, having remained undefeated for five years in regional athletics.

Attendance

The school's attendance is approximately 960 students. Atherton High is also home to a number of international students throughout a school year.
