Ashwani Thakur

Ashwani Thakur is an Indian filmmaker. He is also a music composer. His films have earned him recognition at various national and international film festivals.
He was awarded by Times Of India for a music video of their Lead India Anthem "Tum chalo to hindustan chale".
Ashwani has directed a number of short films, documentaries and music videos. He has also authored the book "Inspirational Stories Of Enlightenment".

Early life

to Mr. Satish Kumar Thakur and Premlata Thakur. His father is a businessman. He is the younger of two brothers. Ashwani finished his schooling in Hillwoods Academy.
At the age of twelve he used to write poems and at sixteen began writing lyrics for songs and bhajans with his grandfather.He spent his initial important years in confusion between being a writer, a music composer or a singer etc.

Career

After completing his education, Ashwani worked for sometime in an IT company. Not satisfied with a 9-5 job, he quit and began working as an assistant to some directors. Here he gained valuable practical knowledge about filmmaking and found his calling in films. In his initial years he assisted directors in making corporate films for LLOYD Group, PSL Engineering, Amrit Food, Yamaha Suzuki and a Hindi Feature Film produced by CFSI.

Films

Ashwani has made a documentary for an NGO, Child Survival India which was premiered at the Cinemax Theatre in Mumbai on 5 August 2008.
He also made video for the Lead India Anthem "Tum Chalo to Hindustan Chale" which won him a second place. True to the anthem, the video depicts how every citizen is responsible for the progress of the nation through simple contributions like keeping hte surroundings clean.
Ashwani prefers to make short films because he believes that they potray reality and not fiction.
