Arinze Onuaku

Arinze Onuaku is a 6'9", 275lb professional basketball player from Lanham, Maryland who was on the Syracuse Orange basketball team. He went undrafted in the 2010 NBA Draft. He is currently playing with the LKL team, Klaipėdos Neptūnas.

High school

Onauku was Episcopal High School's William Caskie Watts MVP Award in his senior season. Onauku was ranked the 13th best center of his year by Scout.com.

2005-06

Onauku averaged 2.0 points and 2.8 rebounds his freshman year, appearing in 29 games as the team's primary backup to starter Darryl Watkins

2006-07

As a sophomore, Onauku did not appear in a game after having surgery on his left knee in October 2006.

2007-08

On October 19, 2007 Onuaku broke a backboard dunking at Manley Field House during Syracuse's Midnight Madness event. He would go on to start every game of Syracuse's 2007-08 season, finishing with averages of 12.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while ending ninth in the nation in field-goal percentage (.628). Among his performances was a 14 point and a 16 rebound effort in a 73-60 win over Tulane.

2008-09

A knee injury would limit Onuaku's production in his junior season, as he was only able to play 26.8 minutes per game. Onuaku would again be among the leaders in the NCAA in field goal percentage (66.7) but would also be among the worst free throw shooters (29.8). Onuaku's best game came against DePaul on January 30, 2009 as he scored a season high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 38 minutes in a 60-55 win.

2009-10

Onuaku's 15 points and seven rebounds helped then-No. 24 Syracuse to a 87-71 win over then-No. 4 North Carolina on November 20, 2009.

A serious leg injury suffered against Georgetown in the Big East Tournament kept Onuaku out of the NCAA Tournament.
