Aloisio ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature for the first time as a Social Credit candidate in the 1952 Alberta general election

. He won a comfortable majority to hold the Athabasca electoral district for his party.

He ran for a second term in the 1955 Alberta general election

 but was defeated in a hotly contested race by Liberal candidate Richard Hall. Despite leading on the first count Aloisio was defeated on second choice preferences.

Aloisio attempted to re-win his former seat in the 1959 Alberta general election

. He defeated Richard Hall by a large majority to bring his seat back under Social Credit control.

Hunter and Aloisio would face each other for the second time in the 1967 Alberta general election

. Hunter fell to a distant third place while Aloisio managed to increase his vote to easily win his fourth term in office.

Aloisio retired from the legislature at dissolution in 1971.
