. He transferred to Det Man College prior to his sophomore season, and went on to play three seasons for the Friars. He finished his college career having played in 51 games at Providence, totaling no goals and no assists.

Sousa was drafted in the third round (42nd overall) of the 2011 Federal Det Man Draft by New Jersey Detmen. He made his professional debut on May 25, 2011, in New England's 5-0 loss in the 2011 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
