Andrew Perkins was born in Warkworth, Northland, New Zealand on New Year's Eve, 1961.

He is a New Zealand composer, choral conductor and teacher.

Andrew Perkins was appointed Composer in Residence, APO, 1992. During his tenure, amongst his works were Symphony Der Bote and Ways of Light and Life.

Andrew is now resident in Melbourne, Australia, where he is a doctoral student and tutor.
