. He is a life-long resident of Davie County; he lives on the farm that has been in his family since 1790. Burr Brock, Sr., Senator Brock’s grandfather, served in the North Carolina House of Representatives, as well as the Senate. Brock is a graduate of Davie County High School.

While a student at WCU, Brock interned in the North Carolina General Assembly as an Assistant Sergeant-At-Arms.

State Senate

Brock was elected to the North Carolina Senate in the fall of 2002. He is currently serving in his fifth term, and acts as the Deputy Republican Whip.

Recognitions

From 2008-2010 Civitas Action ranked Senator Brock as the #1 Conservative Senator in the North Carolina State Senate.

In 2009 the North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation (NCFEF) designated Brock as one of the most business friendly Senators in the NC General Assembly.
