Kaviviraraghava Mudaliar wrote two long poems in praise of the Saivite shrine at the mountain of Kazhukanda titled Kazhukunda Puranam and Kazhukunda Malai. His Kazhukunda Malai was especially regarded as a splendid work and is replete with hyperboles
