The park is totally undeveloped and there are no plans to develop it. It includes 1288 feet (392.6 m) of ocean frontage, several ponds and 54 acres (218,530.4 m²) of tidal and freshwater wetlands. The area was earlier referred to locally as the "Montauk Moorlands."
