Amanda Robins

Amanda Robins is an Australian contemporary artist who is best known for her sumptuous paintings and large-scale drawings of clothing and drapery.

She trained in Melbourne at the Chisholm Institute of Technology, and the Victorian College of the Arts. She is now the Studio Head of Painting and Drawing
at the South Australian School of Art, University of South Australia.

Her richly textured and dramatic work falls within a symbolist tradition. It transcends its subject matter with deeply evocative references to the human body that are both imaginative and perceptive.

Her drawings have been frequentally selected to hang in the Dobell Prize for Drawing
