The Ealing Road site is more commonly known as the lower site (consisting of Years 7, 8 and 9), and the Stanley Avenue site is known as the upper site (consisting of Years 10, 11, 12 and 13). Future development

There was a planned development project for the school as well as Copland Community School. Building Schools for the Future (BSF) would have rebuilt the school on one site; the Ealing Road one, that means all year groups will be at one building. The school would have taken over a part of One Tree Hill Open Space, but the plan was criticised for wasting green open space and increased CO2 emissions. The new school was due to be opened by September 2013, but the project has now been cancelled following the move by the Conservative Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove MP, to cancel Labour's £55bn BSF programme.
