. Dr. Sandy Bunkin was the school's first principal and after five years retired. She was replaced by Mr. Louie Diaz who was the Assistant Principal of Athletics for the first 2 years the school was open then become the principal of Jefferson High School. The school is currently the largest in the 9th largest district in America.

Alonso Theatre Department

Alonso is home to the award-winning International Thespian Troupe 6299, under the sponsorship of Mrs. Lisa Vorreiter. Since its formation the first year of the school's existence, the troupe has won multiple Superior ratings at the district and state levels.

In addition to sponsoring the troupe and directing the department's various plays, Mrs. Vorreiter, who has been with the school since its opening, teaches Stage Makeup, Improv, and Beginning and Advanced Musical Theater and Acting.
