He was part of the 2005–06, 2006–07 and 2008–09 Swiss Championship winning team with FC Zurich. Abdi was awarded an improved contract until summer 2010 in June 2006. Abdi was in November 2009 promoted to the reserve squad. He signed on 8 December 2009 for Le Mans Union Club 72.
