, her ex-boyfriend, caused trouble for Alice as she didn't know whom to support: her boyfriend Craig, or Kip, for whom she still has feelings. Craig learnt on his return from Australia that Alice encouraged Kip to break protocol and had kissed. Alice moved in with her mother for a while, things were sorted out and eventually got back together.

2008

 (the Ferndale Strangler - in his final act) in early March 2008 and held hostage by him in his warehouse lockup for a number of days, chained to a bed. Joey came close to killing her on several occasions throughout that time, particularly as he performed an appendicectomy

 procedure on her. However, she later managed to escape when Joey needed to check renal output to make sure the appendicectomy had been performed correctly. Alice convinced Joey to let one of her restraints go in order to use the bedpan, and then went on to throw it at his face. He pushed her to the floor and attempted to kill her, but she retaliated by stabbing him in the leg with a needle, and then a scalpel. She eventually escaped screaming, leaving a bloody trail before being rescued by Craig. Joey then committed suicide by jumping off a roof, after being cornered by the police.

In late March 2008 she had a one night stand with Guy Warner

. On 21 April 2008 Alice discovered she was five weeks pregnant. Craig proposed but she turned him down and went to stay with her mother, Fran, for a few weeks to sort out if she wanted to go through with the pregnancy as there was a possibility that Guy Warner fathered her unborn child. She returned, accepted the marriage proposal, and admitted the truth to Craig. She then decided to sell her story to a TV show, to help other woman who may have been affected by Joey. However, Craig called the wedding off when he discovered that Alice sold the TV show the rights to take photos at the wedding. Craig received a phone call from the lawyer about his daughter, Scarlett

with a car. Craig flew to Perth, Australia to prepare her for the pending trial. Alice went away for a couple of weeks (or months) after collapsing due to stress. She returned on 1 September 2008 and it seemed she might have be looking to reconcile with Craig. On 2 September, Craig was murdered, leaving Alice devastated at the thought of raising a child on her own. On 4 September (two days after Craig's death) she went into premature labour and gave birth to a baby girl, who she named Kelly. A few days after Kelly was born Alice's mother, Fran, returned to Ferndale and vowed to be a part of Alice and Kelly's lives. Unbeknownst to Alice, Fran had stopped taking her medication that controlled her moods stemming from an unnamed mental illness. Fran left Ferndale in late September. On Wednesday 8 October 2008 on Jay's 1st birthday Kelly died due to Renal Failure.

Alice dated Ethan Pierce unaware on his shady business dealings. In end of year cliff-hanger an unseen hand shot and killed Ethan Pierce.

2009

The police arrested Alice but released her, she then asked Luke Durville who help her remember that day, a phrase played over in her mind and when she heard Maia say she realised who had shot Ethan. Alice confronted Maia who confessed all but didn't want to tell the police. On 24 February 2009 Alice was arrested and Maia asked go to the police station for further questioning. The detective-in-charge pretended he had a confession from Maia and told this to Alice. Faced with that information Alice told the police everything. Alice later went back to Maia's flat and told Yvonne that Maia had shot Ethan. Alice avoided Maia from then on and grew closer to Kips best friend Fish. Kip offered Fish and Alice his tickets to Rarotonga. Once they had arrived Kip realized he was jealous of Fish and Alice and he traveled to Raro too. He admitted his love to Alice and told her he was staying, Alice agreed to stay too and the two started a new chapter of their lives far away from their busy lives at Shortland Street.
