During his career Alexander Chepakovich worked at Gomel Power Plant 2, General Electric Company, Bank of Canada, ABN Amro Bank, Commerzbank, Edward Jones, and ING Bank. Currently he is the head of the Power and Energy Utilities team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Moscow, Russia.

Alexander Chepakovich has done an original research on single- and two-phase transient jets created by diesel engine injectors. He is also the author of the Chepakovich valuation model
