Personal background

Roland was born in Bogotá, Colombia, the son of Raul Roland and Betty Castillo. He is the third of four children. His father was a journalist working on Colombian radio and artist promoter.

In 1996, Roland graduated from Fundación Escuela Superior Profesional (INPAHU) in Bogotá, completing his education in journalism. Following his graduation from INPAHU, he enrolled in Central University, where he continued his education in journalism and media relations. In 2000, Roland moved to the United States, residing in New Jersey
