Al Ain Mall Expansion

Al Ain Mall Extension and Jumeirah Hotel project - is soon to be a reality. Set to be an authentic lifestyle oasis in Al Ain, this unique mixed use, fully integrated project is a gift to Al Ain & UAE Residents from the owners of Al Ain Mall – M/s Al Farida Investments Company.
The whole development was planned in two phases. Phase one was to expand the retail GLA adding elegant multi-level, upscale retail and catering zones, and phase two was to complement it with a deluxe Five Star Hotel complex to be managed by one of the World’s leading luxury hotel chains - Jumeirah International Group.

Mr. Morhaf Kishi, General Manager of Al Ain Mall disclosed that soft opening of phase one will be before Eid (mid of Ramadan) and the grand opening is scheduled for October 2011. Phase one will add 300,000 sq.ft. of retail space to the existing 500,000 sq.ft. GLA of Al Ain Mall. With the completion of phase 2, Al Ain Mall will have above 1 million sq.ft. of retail GLA making it Al Ain’s first Super Regional Mall with 423 retail outlets.

Having leased out 80% of the phase one GLA and with a long waiting list of major retailers and international groups for the remaining, more than 130 new retail outlets will be opened in the first phase of the project. Quite a number of leading fashion/luxury brands; internationally acclaimed fine dining and casual dining outlets; and exclusive play areas are added to the unique retail offering of Al Ain Mall. As it’s name, Al Ain Mall enjoys a very special place in the hearts of Al Ain & UAE residents, which is evident from its growing customer traffic crossing 9 million visitors a year. Being the only Mall located in the downtown and closer to Omani Border, Al Ain Mall attracts lots of tourists from neighboring countries. With the opening of extension phase one, Al Ain Mall will also enjoy the status of the only Mall in Al Ain City with 3000 basement car parks.

The new architecture of Al Ain Mall reflects the rich U.A.E. tradition inside and out offering contemporary, superior quality standards and services in retail and entertainment. A large man-made lake on the second floor surrounded by retail outlets, restaurants & cafes; a heritage souk and new casual dining concepts are some of the major attractions of the soon to be open Al Ain Mall Expansion.

Phase two of the project will add little more than 250,000 sq.ft. of retail space; refurbishing the current mall ground level and parking; which will bring more retail outlets. Besides, Phase 2 will see the opening of Jumeirah Al Ain Hotel and an outdoor shopping pavilion. There will be a dedicated area of more than 100,000 Sq.ft. on the ground floor level hosting the Hypermarket and leading department stores. Completion of Phase two is scheduled for the end of 2012.

It’s worth mentioning that Al Ain Mall is Al Ain’s first Mall built in 2001. As Mr. Kishi claims; Al Ain Mall has gained popularity as City’s foremost shopping and leisure destination and become an indivisible part of Al Ain’s lifestyle. By virtue of their invariable loyalty and association with the Mall spreading over a decade, Al Ain Mall is like a second home to many of the residents.
