i film actor and singer. Akmal was younger brother of famous character actor Ajmal, His real name was Asif Khan, but he changed his name to that of his younger brother Akmal.

Akmal mostly work in Punjabi language films. He was the second most well-known star of Punjabi films after Sudhir. Akmal started his film career as a makeup artist and appeared as an extra

His 1965 film Malangi (1965) was a peak point of his film career. He appeared as villain in Baghawat (1960). Akmal worked on more than sixty films; his last film was Bahadur Kisan.
