Daronch was a student at a school run by Catholic priest Blessed Manuel Gómez González and also accompanied the priest on his missionary visits to the Kaingang Indians. He and Gómez González were shot and killed by revolutionaries during one such missionary trip. The two were beatified as martyrs by Pope Benedict XVI
