Abdullah ibn Abdulrahman ibn Jibreen was a leading Sunni cleric in Saudi Arabia
and a member of the Senior Clerics Association.
He was also a former member of the Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Fataawa
in Saudi Arabia.
He worked to spread the knowledge of the Qur'an
. In summer every year, he traveled all over Saudi Arabia
to lecture on Islamic affairs. He has written many published books and articles and has thousands of recorded materials on websites.
Ibn Jibreen was mentioned in Osama bin Laden
's 1994 Open Letter on the Invalidity of the Fatwa on Peace with the Jews as being in agreement that Grand Mufti

was wrong to urge reconciliation with the Jews.
According to the United States, ibn Jibreen was responsible for convincing Saleh Ali Jaid Al Khathami

Commenting on Shiites, ibn Jibreen said: "Some people say that the rejectionists are Muslims because they believe in God and his prophet
, pray and fast. But I say they are heretics. They are the most vicious enemy of Muslims, who should be wary of their plots. They should be boycotted and expelled so that Muslims spared their evil."
Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim, the political leader of Iraqi Shiites, once referred to ibn Jibreen as an "evil cleric." Ali al-Sistani, the religious leader of Iraqi Shiites, has also criticized ibn Jibreen, accusing him of exacerbating tensions between Shiites and Sunnis in Iraq.
He died on July 13, 2009.
