Abdollah J. Jassbi is an Iran

Along with Iranian leader Ali Khamenei
and Iranian president Hashemi Rafsanjani, Jasbi was a co-founder of Azad University network which is among the biggest NGOs in Iran.
Jasbi was also a candidate in Iran's presidential election, but lost the election to President Khatami

He has B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering (Tehran college of Science & Technology), an MSc in Industrial Management and a PhD in Management of Production & Technology, both from Aston University
, UK. His PhD thesis (1979) was entitled "Productivity analysis and measurement".
On 29 November 2011, he announced his retirement from Azad University. The next President of the Azad University will be selected in December.
